In my opinion the best improvement ever will be incorporating the web application into TomTom Home!

Tomtom HOME is going to be irrelevant, as soon as all the NAV2 devices will be legacy. Different units use different maps. As soon as you don't have the latest map on your unit, but like a 3 years old, it would be pointless to report an error that was fixed already...maybe ![]()

And why would NAV2 devices be legacy? Is there a new GPS technology that requires new hardware?

The new one is NAV3. More and more of the old units (One) are becoming legacy. The x30 models are mid-term. But it is a hijack again

As long as there's no other positioning system I believe none of these should be legacy. If they suit their purpose, where's the problem?

+1 right here. I can't see any problem at all. ![]()

Hi dhn,
Yes and I agree. Quite often one loads a correction or new data and there are issues with it that, discovered in the moment - even the next day need be fixed if the report be clean. Thinking aloud here, data in Map Share Reporter finds itself in the applicable Zone Content Operations member/s more usually between a week on average. Some earlier and later then these are picked off the table as it were and this is where verification starts, This timing a contributor would not now. I'll certainly include the item but this one is simple arraignment immediately it sounds may prove to be a difficult one to be improved unless a hold of submitted and this is going to be a long night

English is not my language so maybe I wasn't clear enough... ![]()
Let say that if the map on the device is newer it can then be used with user's agreement!
I was talking about TTH just because that's the pgm I use owning a 750. The same can be applied to MyTomTom too!
Btw: as soon as there will not be any more map updates for the "legacy" devices I will abandon TomTom because I do not want any of the current devices... ![]()

me too. The good thing about the "legacy" devices is that the user can access the file system. This sometimes helps a lot, and when Tomtom decides to "close" the system, this will be the moment I'll move to a competitor.

I think if we take the question of the ageing of units too far here we may be going somewhat OT and the discussion of when & why GPSr in general should follow this route is valid discussion for a brand new topic. I will, Giangi, take your point on board for the MSR Suggestions (but will refer to the new topic for a reader to have the complete picture. Starting discussion on the Ageing of units has been opened over there.
Edit: raduasaf, Megalos and Zsolt - suggestions noted and will include. I'll have to be away from Forum for a while to encapsulate these suggestions into a worthy list.
