Usually when I use Map Share the map image is not displayed. The map area is just pink. However the browser has completed loading the page. The blue spots that indicate my previous reports are displayed correctly. I use Windows XP SP3. The problem occurs in Firefox and in IE 8.
Is this a known issue, or something specific to my system?

I have never seen that before. Have you tried refreshing the website by pressing Ctrl + F5? You could also try another computer. I'm pretty sure it has to do with your computer.

I had a quick look at topics in Discussions in the News and Announcement sections that will also be relevant to this discussion.
@Zsolt - I'll have to get back to you on that. Do you have a few suggestions for improvement in the scripting?
Edit: Fixed the link :: Shorty
Edit: Note to self - include as a suggestion ..... language use ... precision

To be sure, I downloaded and installed the newest Java, with no improvement. Refreshing with Ctrl+F5 does not help.
When I log in to http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/, the browser says that it's connecting to routes.tomtom.com -> d.routes.tomtom.com -> b.routes.tomtom.com. So for me this seems that downloading the map fails or is very slow, and it tries different mirror pages. Sometimes a part of the map gets downloaded, but usually not. However the internet connection is fast and all other TomTom pages download quickly.

I tested this with another computer (Mac) in the same internet connection, and the problem is exactly the same. But in my work computer the problem does not exist. So the problem seems to be down to my ADSL connection or ISP.

@ mammoth and those who replied, while your question and the answers are valid they are Off Topic under this title please go create or join another
@Zsolt
Agreed it's web amalytics stuff and I would submit that it's valuabnle knowledge for Tom Tom. More or less activity in a particular zone (compared to some norm) could indicate a problem in the map at that site. Equally so if a large public event was about to take place and so on
Guys (and Dolls) let me emphasise once more PLEASE,only post in this topic if you have a suggestion to make stemming from your experience in using Map Share Reporter This topic is not the place to discuss issues you may have with MSR unless it concludes with a suggestion. If you post issues here these could mask a valid suggestion tucked away in the post itself.
So far (up there now in this thread) we've had a list of valuable input from fof and Zsolt in essence asking that MSR be tested on ALL browser programmes before being put out for use.
So, let us have your & more experiences of the MSR product in use.that lead to suggestions for improvement..
