Amsterdam, Netherlands - Dead end street not shown as dead end

[ Edited ]

Every day we are confronted with some very confused motorists, because Tomtom steers them onto our (private) parking lot.

The bridge between Oostenburgervoorstraat and Oostenburgermiddenstraat has been physically closed off since 2001.

Still, Tomtom seems to be blissfully unaware of this fact.

(The right way to "Oostenburgermiddenstraat" or "Jacob Bontiusplaats", "VOC-Kade", "Zeemagazijnkade"

etc. is through Czaar Peterstraat, turn left at Czaar Peterstraat 213)

Hi, if you want you can report this using the online Map Share Reporter: http://tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/. When the report is accepted, it usually takes about 6 to 12 months before it's implemented in a future map release. If you need help with this, please let me know :smileyhappy:.

I think those people are using old TomTom maps. In the latest maps, this bridge is already blocked, see the image below. So they have to update their maps.

Mmmm ... probably a motorboat would quicker :smileyhappy:  By all means make the report.  It's a routing hassle and routing hassles frustrate one and lead to other things too.

In town, I sometimes find that switching between Fastest to Shortest route on the fly quite helpful.  I'm thinking Conrad street might be a good alternative and then again city traffic is not really what you would wish imposed on you.

Looks like you guys have the right info, and the people complaining about their 'Tomtom' sending them our way must be talking about other brands, or have outdated maps.

That could be but if we don't discuss an issue and it IS an older map problem, then hopefully "we make a sale" :smileywink:
