Hi,
did you already report this error using the Map Share Reporter tool? If not please do it that TT receives even more hints they have to look at that location. Usually the corrections get implemented in the second next map after the report has been accepted.

I reported this change on MapShare in March 2012. My report has been 'accepted' but there's no indication when it will be corrected on the map.
It can be a bit confusing since the A46 has changed quite a bit. I just have to remember which road I'm going off at and not trust the TomTom!
I'm planning to get a new TomTom, but awaiting this update before I do. I don't want to get a year's worth of updates and find that it still hasn't been updated in that time. There are several other major changes on the routes I use (e.g. Derby and the M1 near London) but I can cope without the TomTom knowing about them because they're less complicated changes - these have all been corrected from looking at the TomTom online map.
OpenStreetMap is correct and up-to-date, I believe, as is google maps.

I have also reported this major road junction update that has been under construction for dsome time, why can't TOM TOM have a category similar to Toll Charges and an option to accept or avoid the road, giving a warning of expected completion dates.
My other question is why when I download a new mapit is a backward step losing map corrections.

I have also reported this via a complaint to Customer Services and they tell me that the corrected route for the new A46 will be in the August release of the map updates.....lets see!

Guys - there is a lot of frustration in reporting issues all over the plkace. Get the relevant reports loaded using the Map Share Tools then your problems (and frustrations with other forms of reporting an issue from a map should be fixed much quicker - so much so that we are prepared to say in the "Next Release" (that is the "Shop Map" which I don't like saying "Next" since there are processes beyond my control) or the”release following that”.. ,This depends on timing only. Content Operations "close" off their data a good few weeks to allow the Map Production Centre chance to put the finishing touches to the map. This, in reality is what takes the time - queries back and forth where the Maps Department [I'm a member of that Group] and the Map Producton Centre discuss issues. Group HQ also play s a part here.
.
I can't emphasise it more strongly - please use Map Share Reporter . Nothing else will get your data into the production line quicker
In fact, I'm going to put a locked topic on this board that says just that..

I reported it via MapShare ....the problem is that there are too many specific changes to report as it is such as long stretch that is incorrect i.e. circa 30 miles.

The improvements have substantially altered the A46. Some junctions have been removed, others have slip roads leaving 800m before the previous junction, Trying to cross the A46, the 890 map often sends you down the A46.
In the UK, these projects now always run on time or early due to massive time penalties/incentives on the contractors.
The plans are online, at the Highways Agency, and most parts where running albeit at reduced speed months ahead of completion.
There is no excuse for TomTom not to have accounted for these changes 5 months after completion.
When will they finally be included in TomTom maps???

These major works starting near Farndon, Newark, Notts are part of Google maps and are included on their Directions from Newark to Leicester. COME ON TOMTOM THE CHANGES MUST HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED BY THE HIGHWAYS DEPARTMENT IF GOOGLE MAPS HAVE THEM?
If major works are ignored how can we trust the reliability of these maps RENEWAL NOT TOO FAR AWAY, DO YOU WANT A RESUBSCRIPTION????

Why on earth are we asking Tom Tom. They clearly don't have a clue - I reported this earlier in the year and they told me they had accepted my correction.
HOW is it possible for a company like Tom Tom whose primary aim is navigation NOT to know about the most significant road change for a decade!!!!!!!
My smart phone knows about the new road layout - Why doesn't TOM TOM?
I agree with you, imp1971 - why subscribe to this if they can't be bothered to update.
