Map installation

Have purchased new map for my tom tom go 300 not enough room on my memory card  so purchased 2gb SD CARD but cannot find out how to download the map i have purchased tried every avenue but nothing is xplained clearly can anyone out there help me please

first and very important....back up your entire unit to a folder you can find on your computer. use a file manager that can see system files and copy everything.

then simply copy the contents of that folder onto the sd card.

the unit needs the operating system on the card before it can run when the card is in the slot. no need to remove anything from the tomtom's internal memory. when the card is in, it'll run from the card, otherwise it'll run from the internal memory.

and yes, a basic non sdhc card. get a 2meg card.
