Map installation

Hi

I just got a go 950 and I don't really need it until July when we will drive accross Europe for a month. ( I got it now because  there was a sale I couldn't pass up !)

I will need the latest maps and since the LMG is only 30 days I don't want to activate it now .... I read the maps were updated  every 3 months and should now be at version 8.60

Anyone know when the next update will be?

The newest maps - just released - have version v865

The next ones will be released in around 3 months

I am a little surprise the TomTom site isn't up to date on their own latest map version!

hmm, http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/shop/maps/ there it says v865, when you want to buy a new map.

I see, I didn't go as far as trying to buy a new map to check the version, but I guess that's a way to do it.

I went the easy, obvious way of checking the FAQ section for the latest map version and its not up to date for almost every European country I checked (here are a few):

Belgium:  http://fr.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7906

But now that I know your trick, I will do it your way to make sure I know which is the latest version.... 

Again, It's too bad they don't keep their info updated. 

I had even signed up for the RSS notification to know when that section was updated. Ah well...

I was glad to see that the TomTom website is now up to date with the correct current map version 8.65
