Hi all. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I'm leaving for a trip in a week where I need to get this working
.
I have a Tom Tom One (new edition) and purchased the Western Europe maps (6.5v) a few years back. At that time I was able to load on the Western Europe UK maps and use it successfully in the UK on a trip that year.
Now it is time to head back to Europe. I am trying to install the entire Western Europe maps onto a 1G SD. After some challanges, I was able to get the TomTom Home on the CD to install (no updates) on a computer and get it to load the Western Europe app from the DVD, along with a few voices and the entire Western Europe map.
Now, after it installed sucessfully, I disconnnected the One from the computer and reset it. Once it came back up, it booted to the "TomTom" logo page (witht he red hands) and froze. The power button doesn't work. The only way I can get it to come back is to use the reset button. After reseting, it does the same thing.
Any ideas? It is quite likely that the TomTom device has had a firmware update as I have another computer with TomTom 2.8 Home on it.

Thanks Zsolt. I'm trying this technique.
One point of issue. Step #3 sounds like a step for TomTom version 2. The version that comes on the DVD is v1.1 and doesn't have the "manage my device". There is a "my computer" tab in the center box, and my system doesn't have any content on it to delete.
Also, when I plug in my device, it ask if it should check for updated material. When I do, it says "no content found". THis is surprising, as I just formated the disk.
I will try doing the update from the TomTOm Home v2.8 installed on my other computer.

TomTom 2.8 should have manage my content. I have 2.8.4.2596 installed and I have that tab.
If however this tap is not offered, you can also go to My Documents > TomTom and rename HOME -folder. That "hides" earlier downloads from HOME so it will offer them for download again.

Oh, and for freezing should also work just re-installing app by deleting it from device and computer in Manage my GO/XL/ONE/RIDER and then updating it ![]()
