Is this still occuring for you? I will take the feedback internally as it should be resolved.
Would it be possible to check the code several times to ensure it may be working appropriately now? Thank you in advance!

Tried it once more before returning it and got the correct promotion code window. Seems to work fine now so am keeping the TomTom.

You should be using MyTomTom, not Home 2. Further, posters here report IE9 won't work with MyTomTom.

Still not able to install my map code to check for the latest map.
New error code: The activation code you have entered cannot be used due to incompatibility with the installed application version.

For jdieringer,
I saw your post and I'm curious if your update that was downloading ever installed sucessfully and what that update was.
I put my IE9 into "compatibility mode" and the menues that you couldn't see started working and then it downloaded a map update, even though the upper half of the screen said my map was up to date. After the update finished the install failed with an error message that was no help at all.

WARNING. Dont buy a Via 1505 TM until you read this.
There are problems with their lifetime map download.
I bought our TomTom one month ago and this website wouldnt allow me to install a new map.
Their website says their are issues, which they are working to resolve. NOT!.
They also have a further information link on the VIA 1505 TM map download which doesnt work.
The tomtom forums keep suggesting they're working on it, but it doesnt look like they will be able to fix it, or if they will, anytime soon.
I heard from a TomTom employer <cant disclose name otherwise they will get sacked) that product testing on this unit was SUBSTANDARD and that it was released to the marked with bugs.
Well. This is plainly obvious, otherwise VIA 1505 TM owners (like me) customers wouldnt be wasting weekends complaining.
Dont believe me.... call Tom Tom before you buy this product and ask them for a list of documented defects with this unit.
Tom Tom,
We both know you did the wrong thing to an extent you breached your responsibilities, lied, etc.
Please start doing the right thing.... Otherwise you will start losing loyal customers.

( it is updating so I probably have nothing to be concerned with ) I wanted to mention that I have not problem updating on my XP laptop but the program wont work on Vic;s computer with windows Visa . Its not recognized at all . I havent tried it with windows 7 yet I want to add ...we love the device and have no other problems with it . Hope the info is helpful . Wanda
