Hi all!
I've bought an Europe Map to my TOMTOM VIA but i've not enough memory on the GPS, and no SD card on it. The map is abput 1,8 GB but my GPS is 2GB, so not enough memory. 2 questions:
On the web page says that i can divide the map, but there is no option. Are TOMTOM able to do it?
Can i return my map to TOMTOM if i buy it online?
Thank you all!

Hi,
first the Europe map is about 2.8GB large and not 1.8GB.
Second, unfortunately using map zones doesn't seem to be possible on NAV3 devices like a VIA yet. But you may purchase a microSDHC card with at least 4GB and maximum 32GB memory capacity and the card being at least a Class6 card. After updating the Navcore application to 11.030/11.031 you'll be able to use this memory card. The map will automatically be installed to the microSDHC card.

Hi, thanks for ur response, i was menaning Europe Central, which is 1,8GB
I have some questions:
You say that i you may purchase a microSDHC card with at least 4GB and maximum 32GB memory capacity and the card being at least a Class6 card, but where do i insert the micro SDHC card? I didnt see nothing on my device (VIA 120). Where to insert?
And another question, you say that i need to update Navcore, where to update?
Thanks!!

Hi,
the card slot is covered by a small piece of plastic either somewhere on the bottom of your device or near the USB socket on your device.
The Navcore update should be installed by now. Only if it hasn't been installed so far you'll get it via the MyTomTom support application. This update will be offered automatically if it isn't installed yet. If you still have to install the update make sure you install it as a single update without any other installations.

Hi
Sorry guys, but both of you are wrong, on my device (sorry, is VIA 110) there is no slot for the mini SD...How can TOMTOM make a device with only 2GB of internal memory and sell maps with more size??
Any other solution?
Do you think that i can return the map and they will return my money?
Thanks!

Hi,
indeed, the VIA 110 doesn't offer an SD slot. The VIA 120 which is the newer version of the 110 has an SD slot. So this information about the devices still available on TT's homepage is correct.
Concerning the map you'll only have the possibility to ask for a refund as already described by Zsolt if you didn't start downloading the map yet.

TomTom provided a map too large to fit internal storage area of the unit.
Go to the location on your computer of the downloaded compressed map folder, usually found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\map
And look at the contents using winrar or equivalent. Extract a folder called Loquendo (it may be called Vocalizer in your map) and extract it to the desktop or a temp folder or somewhere you'll know where it is.
Now, try the Home install of the map. It should fit. If it does, use Home to move to Remove items from my unit and select voices. Remove all foreign voices. You may want to also remove some English voices that you aren't going to use. ![]()

Hi,
unfortunately the VIA is a NAV3 device not connecting via TT HOME anymore but only via the MyTomTom support application. There it isn't possible to directly access the file system and to delete part of the content. So if a map is too large for the device it won't be installable.
You'll have to look if there's a smaller map available for the region you need it and purchase and use that smaller map. The map has to be smaller than 2GB.

Lars.
