I would like to buy map update service, but TomTom Home does not offers me anything. Even I got promotional email and on MyTomtom web page is the same offer displayed. As soon as I click on the offer I got redirected to TomTom Hone and there is still nothing to buy... I own Western Europe and Central Europe 2GB map and GO 630.
Thanks for advice

Yesterday I purchased the USA map for my TomTom One. I followed all of the instructions and can answer YES to the two questions at the beginning of this thread. The map I purchased does not show whatsoever in the update and install screen...or anywhere apart from on 'my orders' and confirmation of payment.
I read above that it could be an issue with the size of the map and the space available on my GPS unit. If this is the issue of why I cannot see my purchased map then why was it made available to buy....I did enter my first two letters of serial number to get the correct map....surely maps shouldn't show as compatible if they can't be downloaded?
I called customer service and spent time trying to rectify the problem but the issue was not resolved. So can anyone tell me if I will ever be able to download this map or do I need to ask for a refund?
Thank you in advance

I have regrettably bought a Tom Tom product . The Via 1535. The latest disappointment with this piece of junk is that MyTomTom tells me the unit is up to date when I connect. My map is version 875.3656. There is an update of version 880 so why is it not installing? One of reasons I was tricked into buying this unit was that there was lifetime free map updates. From reading the posts I see others are feeling as ripped off regarding maps. At least one consolation is I have saved half a dozen people from buying a Tom Tom so far.

Same goes for me- I have also mapversion 875.xxxxxxx that is more than 6 months old, and would like to upgrade to 880 but it says my device is updated.
Any way I can install the latest map manually?

if you've gotten a device with lifetime map updates make sure that the update service is enabled. If you're not able to enable the service yourself via the support application please call CS. They'll be able to activate the code for you.
@Oladunk: Did you already update your device once using the latest map guarantee? If yes you'll have to purchase the newer map or the map update service to further receive map updates. If you haven't bought the map nor purchased the update service you won't get the notice of available map updates as there are no updates available for you.

as that has only been a promotion you should have had a promotion code in your box. It should have been written on a card saying DO NOT DISCARD!!
Please enter this activation code in capital letters after having logged in to your account.
If that doesn't work as well please call CS. They'll be able to activate it from their end. You may have to provide some proof that the device is yours and that exactly that promotion had been included at the time you've purchased your device.

In approx March 2011 I bought a map-update from Tom Tom providing me 4 updates spread throughtout a 12 month-period. However, I was only able to download the first update. For all the remaining updates I did not manage to download the update because "the connection to the server" was not working I was told. I spoke to Tom Tom Support services and they told me to use a wire instead of wireless connection to the internett. But it did not make any difference. I really liked the product of getting a regular update several times a year, but when I can not download it I don't know what to do. Can anybody help me? Can Tom Tom send me an update on a CD? In advance, thanks for your help. Best regards, Rune Myrmel
