I recently installed Western Europe maps on my XL Live IQ and everything was still in place and working OK before going to France , arrive in France and my map changes fine with no problems , I arrive back at Folkestone earlier this evening to find all my favourites and my 'Home' setting had disappeared ! . Can anybody tell me why this should be or if I can get them back , there was no warning , that I saw , that this might happen during the install.

To anybody else having the same problem , scroll through Preferences to Switch Maps and choose Great Britain and Northern Ireland ... thanks to Matthew D. at TomTom support .

i have lost my favourites, i installed a paid for map udate for france, when i got the end of the install i disonnected gps from computor, and turned it back on , and gone were my favourites and recent destinations, it is horrendous! i went back onto tom tom home and went to re install my last back up at which point i was told that if i did this it would wipe out any recent additions to the gps and of course ive just paid for the new maps and dont want to loose those so i did another back up which of course superseeded by last back up which would have contained my favorites, now i dont know what to do, i need my favorites back ! does anyone know how i can find them and where ? i always used to back it up every time i connected it to update, so im hoping some clever person can help me ?

Are you using a pc or a Mac? If a pc, then it is Windows Explorer, the file manager that you use to copy the mapsettings.cfg from the backed up map to the updated map on the unit. It doesn't go into your documents folder on the pc.

I am NOT talking about Internet Explorer, the browser! I am talking about Windows Explorer, the file manager and you DO have it. It's part of the operating system.

Hi , If you click on your Start Button >> All Programs>>Accessories and you will find Windows Explorer there , if you right click on the Wndows Explorer Folder you can create a short cut on your desktop
