On June 6 I was advised that there were map updates for my TomTom (TomTom One - 130). Two weeks later I got around to following the email's download instructions. After trying to update my unit I was informed that it did not have enough memory. Making matters worse, in the process of trying to install the map updates my existing maps were erased. After several more unsuccessful attempts I contacted the TomTom support team by phone. After that I spent close to 5 hours in two different sessions with two different support team staff, I still don't have the problem resolved and my TomTom still announces No Maps Found!
This morning I received an email from the TomTom support people telling me "unfortunately that was the last step to solve the issue, there is no further troubleshooting and we cannot fix the issue, the GPs is no longer under warranty and we cannot replace it, we are really sorry about this inconvenience." GREAT - I've lost the use of my unit; I've lost the voice that I paid extra for and I've lost the recent maps that I purchased. To the best of my knowledge I was never warned that TomTom's map update might render my TomTom unusable.

If the map WAS downloaded, you should find it here:
c:\documents and settings\yourname\my documents\TomTom\Home\Downloads\Complete\Maps\
and you can try to install it manually without using Home. See here:
See if that works.

This same thing happened to me!
TomTom sent a reminder that updates were available.
I was going out of the country & wanted to make sure I had the latest maps.
I did the update & lost everything!!!
TomTom my hats off to you, what a way to up your sales!!!
I am a Realtor & will tell everyone I every meet about this scam...
If it's not a scam, then TomTom should replace the item they broke, at no cost to the consumer they just took advantage of!!!

If that other person's experience, following a map update, was similar to mine, when s/he says s/he lost "everything" I imagine that his/her TomTom was rendered unusable ... no maps at all, no GPS directions nor feedback, nothing ... the unit basically stopped working because its entire data base was lost.
Very frustrating to put it mildly!!
