I don't know what release of Navcore was first loaded, but I certainly now have 9.401 on the internal memory. I'm sorry I don't understand this bit::
Also it might help if you've got an empty SD card to start your device once with the inserted SD card so the ttgo.bif file is already created before connecting the device to the computer and searching for application updates.
Please explain the exact sequence of what I do with (a) new 4GB SDHC card and (b) spare old card.
Thanks for your perseverance - I'm sure we'll get there in the end..

Hi,
if you've got a new SDHC card please check that it is formatted in FAT32. Then insert it into the SD slot of your device and turn the device on while it is not connected to the computer. Afterwards connect the device to the computer and check for updates. You should be able to install the Navcore application to the SD card if the SDHC card is supported by your device.
If you've got a spare old card please save the data stored on it if you don't want to loose it, format the card in FAT32 and insert it into the SD slot while not having your device connected to the computer. Start the device and afterwards connect it to the computer. Now install the application update.
After having installed the Navcore application to the card install at least one voice onto the card and afterwards your map.
To make sure you've got the SDHC cards supported as well please install the Navcore application v8.351 to your device or extract at least the file called 'system' to your device's internal memory.

Lars.

When I have added a 4gb SD (MicroSD HC) to my Go750 I didn't had to install navcore to it; I keep into the 4gb just the maps and the standard voices, the syntetised ones are still into the internal memory (together with navcore and all others files/directory)
Now from TTH you should be able to install what ever you want on the card! ...at least I didn't had problems installing the previous 8.80 complete europe (bigger than the internal memory size of my Go750)

Hi,
@Giangi: The necessarity to install the older Navcore version to the device is necessary for x20 devices to have the SDHC cards supported. x50 devices have the correct bootloader installed from the beginning.
@simonbrew: You'll need to have at least one voice and the Navcore application installed on the SD card as well for the navigation to work. You should get this application offered automatically though if inserting the empty SD card first, starting your device and only then connecting it to your computer. If you've got the SD card selected as active memory all content will automatically be installed to the SD card.

Lars.

OK - I'm back in UK and still trying to make this work..
In here: "
Did you install Navcore 8.350 or 8.351 to your device prior to Navcore 9.xxx? If not, the correct bootloader for supporting 4GB SDHC cards is still missing. You can add this bootloader to your device by downloading the file linked below and then extracting the 'system' file to your device. That file is the bootloader v5.5120 which you'll need to enable SDHC card support.
Navcore 8.351 Go x20 .cab file (hyperlink)
You'll be able to extract that file using WinRAR."
You say I should extract the system file. Two questions:
1) Do I extract ONLY the system file, and leave all the other files alone?
2) where do I put the system file? - into the root folder of the TT memory, or the SDHC card or where?

Hi,
there are mainly two possible ways to go on about this installation.
1.) You extract only the system file to the root of your device's internal memory.
2.) You first delete all loose files from the root of your device's internal memory and then extract all files from the .cab file to the root of your device. Don't delete any folders. Afterwards you check via the TT HOME application for updates and install all available application updates.
No matter which option you chose please plan a route if you've still got a map on your device and let that route be run in demo mode in the emulator in TT HOME. Then you disconnect your device from your computer using the disconnect device button. Then please perform a soft reset and insert your SDHC card afterwards. Start your device and then connect the device to the computer again. Afterwards install all offered content to the memory card.
Regards
Lars.
