Map Updates

How long does it take for the map updates you input to be actioned?  The road I take to work each day has had two roundabouts removed and traffic lights installed, I have input this info on the TomTom site and was wondering when my TomTom will update????

Re: Map Updates

For a minor update (which can't be distributed automatically with Mapshare) like that, it would typically take 1 to 5 years to get the map updated.

Re: Map Updates

Hi,

I can only say that the changes I reported so far have been added only 2 maps afterwards so about 1/2 year after reporting them. Those changes have been in the Heidelberg area (Germany). Those changes were about a new streets, new roundabouts, and so on.

Regards

Lars.

Re: Map Updates

I will not hold my breath then.  Like all new Sat Nav users I have been checking my normal everyday routes against TomTom's directions and found some of their routes taking me on illegal turns; I am glad I tested it on roads I know because I am sure TomTom will not pay my road fines for following their illegal turns.

Re: Map Updates

My vi1535m just updated itself successfully for the first time. After an important update and a map update the screen showed there were no further updates needed. When I checked the map version it showed v875.3656 is this the latest version for my unit.

Re: Map Updates

Hi,

no, the latest version for all units is v885. Please check that you've enabled the lifetime map update service. You should be able to find it under manage content in the MyTT webinterface. If it is not listed there please call support to activate your lifetime map updates. Afterwards you should receive the latest map and quarterly every new map being released until your device dies.

Regards
Lars.

Re: Map Updates

Hi Lars

Is this lifetime map update only available in certain areas? All I see in the UK is that I get a free update IF a new map is released within 90 days of first use :smileyindifferent:

Re: Map Updates

Okay thanks for the info. Seems a bit unfair, but never mind.
