After the change to HD traffic with the 1.8 version, I'm fiding that my traffic subscription is essentially useless. What seems to happen is that if the app can't get traffic data, it seems to assumes that means that there isn't any traffic - even if it was showing hours-long delays just a couple minutes ago. This happens quite a bit, so when I do get a sugguston to re-route, the loss of traffic info means that it's followed by another suggusiton to reroute after the next traffic 'update'.
Is there a plan to fix this?

I am having the exact same issue. Have you found a fix for this yet? I find that when the Tom Tom traffic all of a sudden switches incorrectly to no traffic I quit the application and restart it. Then is work fine for 5 or 10 minutes then the problem comes back.

I have this same issue. It has nothing to do with the radius. Major delays (very close ahead, or even that I am currently stuck in) will disappear, then reappear a few minutes later.
Since the iPhone app was updated to HD Traffic, the traffic data has become completely unreliable. Very disappointed.
Is it also true that "normal" delays (as predicted by IQ Routes) will not show up on the incident map? I've been stuck in some pretty severe "normal" traffic while TomTom showed a green light (no traffic incidents). That is not what I expect when I see a green light.

I hadn't thought of doing that. It seems to help somewhat as long as you know that there ought to be traffic where you are. Nothing else seems to help.

I have seen that too. 'Normal' delays should show up - the big one(s) near my normal at-home route show up during the infrequent moments when HD Traffic is actually working.

Since yesterday evening I've had nothing but "Unable to update Traffic". Combine that with an unexpected 20 minute traffic delay on my commute this morning and it's testing my patience with Tomtom.
I expected to come here and see lots of people complaining about this latest outage. Since I don't see that, maybe it's just me.

Although at least in this case I was aware that I did not have traffic data. Usually it just shows a green light when there's 20 minutes of delay.

I have the same issue on the iPhone. Incorrectly reports that a route is completely clear only for me to get on the road and get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Or sometimes Tom Tom says there is a delay but then on the first traffic update, it changes to no delay, while I'm sitting in or just arriving at the traffic and this is on a major road in a major city (I-76 in Philadelphia), I could understand if this happened occasionally on some unknown backroad but you can't get 76 right??? Tom Tom, please fix or credit customers who are paying for this and expecting some accuracy from this "New and improved, revolutionary HD Traffic" service.

I am seeing the same issue here. The last 2 days I have kept the traffic map up on the screen on my way to work and back. At the start of the trip I see all the traffic on the map, then at some random point on the trip they start to disappear until none are left. A few minutes later they start to come back but I only see a fraction of what shows on www.tomtom.com/livetraffic It's only when I close the app completely and restart it that I will get all the traffic back. It's hard to trust the navigation when the traffic in the background seems unreliable.
