Re: HD Traffic Reduced Range UK & EUROPE - Unacceptable

Next weekend (3rd December) will be the one year anniversary of TomTom's HD Traffic falling apart.

Are we going to have a party?

By the way, who's been reducing the Kudos given to posts? Not too long ago the highest kudos in this area of the forum was for several posts with a score of 4, but they've gone now. Rather reduces the impact of them.

I don't think it's just HD Traffic thats falling apart Carminat, the whole Company is becoming an embarrassment in my opinion. If my business treated its customer base the way that TT do I would be bankrupt.

Re: HD Traffic Reduced Range UK & EUROPE - Unacceptable

Let’s be honest, TomTom have reduced the functions of any new PND and software year on year all under the guise of 'improvements'.

They have a history of showing no interest at all in correcting functions that do not work as stated, so why should HD traffic be any different.

TomTom spout all sorts of platitudes to deflect attention away from the problems, so these issues continue to re-appear on each new device they send to market.

We forgave them the problems, as the mapping and routing were better than the alternatives available.

We swallowed their excuses and parted with our hard earned cash for the latest devices.

However, they continue to ignore us their customers, despite promises to keep us informed.

They can only expect to lose the very loyal customers who promoted their products through personal recommendation and are the early adopters of TomTom products.

Those very loyal customers are likely to, or have become very anti-TomTom and be happy to tell all and sundry how poor TomTom are.

TomTom, have proven they do not care about the customer, they expected HD traffic issue would die off, as past experience shows customers will give up.

Only with HD traffic they got it wrong and have alienated the customers.

Now,  I would love to go, but by the  time I have arranged things, planned the journey, I just could not guarantee I would get to the party on time!

You see, my HD traffic service has over the last yera become short sighted and don't see traffic to far a head these days.

It has also developed a poor memory and has a habit of sending me into traffic congestion it ignored after it first noticed it.

Alas, the condition seems to be a permanent one and the technicians pretend to have examined the problem, but they hold talks behind closed doors, so I fear the condition may also be terminal one as as far as UK is concerned.    :smileyvery-happy:

As we approach the first anniversary of HD traffic issues, I think I am beginning to understand TomTom speak..

They state:

I understand that you haven't yet had the answer you want

Means:

You are unlikely to get any meaningful answer!

They state:

I can assure you that we are continuing to focus on this at TomTom

Means:

It has been almost a year and continuing loss of revenue has us passing the buck around the company.

They state:

will come back to you as soon as possible

Means:

After we have had the marketing department advertise Tweeting capabilities and all other potential developments, you are next in line

Cynical, yes, but it is how TomTom make me feel with their lack of action and failure to communicate.

Re: HD Traffic Reduced Range UK & EUROPE - Unacceptable

Have you seen the interview with Harold Goddijn in  The Guardian?

The Guardian wrote:

Goddijn is now betting the company on two complicated, ambitious new projects. The first is creating a massive global database of real-time traffic data. For those willing to buy a new box, pay £47.50 a year and listen to the voice of Jeremy Clarkson (in the Top Gear themed model, that is) TomTom will guide them away from traffic jams.

Yeah, tell me about it!! You've got traffic details for the whole woirld, but you can't show it to me for London.:smileymad::smileymad:

Re: HD Traffic Reduced Range UK & EUROPE - Unacceptable

I am so fed up with TomTom and their idea of 'WE ARE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY' stock answer, I have emailed BBC Top Gear.

I suggested they may care to look into the HD traffic.situation,  as they are aligned to the product that cannot deliver HD traffic  as stated.

I also suggested for their next challenge, they use their named product to plan a route from Dover to Dunblane, setting off at 7am on a Monday  and must follow the instruction their PNDs give them once having planned their route.

Rules

Jezza must use TomTom with HD traffic service using the Top Gear Live Edition

Hampster and captain slow may use any other method / satnav

Think it would be interesting if the did it

I don't know about Top Gear, we should report them to Watchdog for inaccurate advertising or for selling products not fit for purpose.
