I had to do some (garden)shopping yesterday and was hoping to find the adress using LIVE Google search.
The shopping center could not be found... but it did appear as 1st hit on laptop Google.
It seems TT Live Search produces different results from free search using Google on my Laptop.
Can anyone explain, why do these results differ?
regards,
Henk
PS. for anyone who tries to do the same search for "Intratuin Zevenhuizen"

Hi Henk, where did you find the online Google Local Search on the TT website? Do you perhaps mean the TomTom Places alternative? That's completely different and it's TT's own variant to the Google database. At the moment, this TomTom Places has not yet the quality of the Google Local Search, but it's getting better with time. But to return to your original question, I look at Google Maps and it couldn't find Intratuin Zevenhuizen either. It can find other Intratuins's however. So I think it's a problem with the Google database (they just don't have the information).

Local Search is on the homepage of TT, bottom right.
But I think I have found the issue. It seems that TT Live is using the search function of Google Maps...
When I search using Google Maps, it also cannot find the correct location, but when I use a generic Google search it is found!
There seems to be a mismatch between Google Maps search and generic Google Search...
It's even that bad, when I search using Google, the result is found displayed on the left side of the screen, but funny enough, the map of the found location shown on the right side, does not show.
So you're right it looks like an Error on Googles side.
Thanks,
Henk
I'm sorry its in Dutch, but the map on the right does not show Zevenhuizen....

Ah, okay. I found it, but it's not Google Local Search, just Local Search. It's using the TomTom Places database (it also redirects to places.tomtom.com if you enter something). Indeed, there seems to be a mismatch between Google Maps and a regular Google search.

my mistake, I assumed because TT LIVE Local Search is using Google, I wrongly assumed the website would be the same.
But thanks for your reply!
May I ask you something about a MAP correction as well? I found something wrong in my neighboorhood, but dont find the way to report or make a correction... Or do I start a new thread in the appropraite board.

The best way to report map corrections is the online Map Share Reporter tool: http://tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/. You can follow the status of your submitted reports, and once accepted it usually takes about 6 to 12 months before it's implemented into a future map release. Certain corrections (like renaming streets, correcting speed limits or turn restrictions) might also be distributed via the regular Map Share downloads (but I have yet to have this confirmed).
If you have many more questions about Map Quality, then you can better post them in the 'Map Quality' section of this forum ;-).

Update: Hi Henk, could you try to search for Intratuin Zevenhuizen again? It should be implemented into the Google database now. See image below. Could you confirm that the location is correct?
