BlueTooth connections

Help please.

I had my TomTom (Via 125 Western Europe) connected to my mobile telephone ok but after I had to replace the battery on my mobile I cannot get the BlueTooth working again.

TomTom "sees" my mobile but won't connect to it.  BUT my mobile does NOT see my TomTom as a BlueTooth device.

My mobile connects ok to other bluetooth devices and all the setting are the same as before.

Question: Why does my TomTom not show up as a BlueTooth device.  Is there some setting in TomTom that I can change?

ps. I had trouble connecting it when I first purchased it, but the store done it for me and I dont know what he done.

Re: BlueTooth connections

Hi Max,

What phone do you have and have you checked if it's compatible with the TomTom?
You can check it here: http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/

Re: BlueTooth connections

Thanks Ditte, but as I say, I already had it connected once - so yes, it is compatible.

However, I contacted the Support Desk and they emailed me a set of instructions which I followed and it is all working again.

Basically, I had to do a complete re-set of the TT (thus losing all my setting - not happy about that) but at least my bluetooth is now talking to my mobile again.

Take care

Max

Re: BlueTooth connections

Hi.  I have the TT XXL and I want to know if it has bluetooth, and if I can connect it to my car which is equipped with bluetooth Uconnect through the car radio.

My cel phone is recognized by the Uconnect and hands free is done through the car radio.  I would like to hear the directions from my TT XXL the same way, through the car radio.  Is that possible?

Re: BlueTooth connections

Hi all,

Since updating my tomtom with the latest software update I am having the same issue with my tomtom not being seen by my phone.

My phone has been working perfectly well with my tomtom for the last 18 months untill this latest update.

My calls to the help desk here in australia were fruitless as they just said my phone's not on the compatibility list -not our problem.

Fair enough its not on the list but its worked perfectly for the last 18 months so whats changed?

help me please.

Jean-Louis, the XXL does not have Bluetooth. For current models with Bluetooth, you will find it shown in the Settings menus, under Connections (it may be different for older devices).

You didn't mention which specific model you are using, but I would proceed as follows:

  1. Try a reset of your TomTom by holding down the power button until you hear drums, then release it, and allow the device to restart. If that doesn't solve it, then ...
  2. Remove TomTom pairing from your phone.
  3. Remove phone pairing from your TomTom.
  4. Reset your TomTom again. You might even want to consider a full factory reset (from the Settings menus), but that would mean losing all your stored information (so back it up first, if you want it back afterwards).
  5. Make your phone visible.
  6. Pair your phone with your TomTom by allowing the TomTom to discover your phone (not the other way around).

See if that helps.

Re: BlueTooth connections

Hi Kex,

thx for the reply. The TomTom im using is a go via 180 (I think), and the phone is an lgp970.

I did the factory reset last night in a hope that would work but no luck and had already removed all pairings from both phone and TomTom. Now when scanning for devices the phone cant even see the TomTom.

Guess I may just have to keep my fingers crossed that when they do the next update more phones may be added to the compatability list.

Thx for your assistance.

Regards, Mark.
