dear fellows on the forum,
a while ago I bought a tt1005 and gave my tt910 top my married son.
due to all the fuzz on speedflashers in france he asked me to update his tt910. I did so last Friday. System seemed to work ok after that.
This morning he drove with his wife and little granddaughter from NL/Eindhoven to France, Normandie.
I just heard the TT910 only showed actual driving location but did not show the route to their destination.
Any idea what is wrong or what he did wrong?
Would be sad if he needs to drive with the paper map i.s.o. the fantastic TT910.
Any help is appreciated!
Henk from Eindhoven

Sounds like normal behaviour for when there is no route calculated, and the device is just tracking your position.
Could it be as simple as he never actually completed entering the route, or that he tapped "clear route" by accident?

thanks for your reactions!
just had contact with the guys abroad - now I have a better description of the issue:
it does show a route but the tt910 thinks that the car is at a different position than in reality - the car seems to be aside of the road so the tt910 keeps giving instructions to get on the track again and is also recalculating the route very frequently.
your support is appreciated !

Ask them to delete the QuickGPSfix files from the device and the computer. TomTom HOME, Manage my GO menu. Then press the pin hole on the bottom.

As zsolt has implied... this is a KNOWN problem caused by a corrupt GPS Quickfix file that has got automatically downloaded during an update. There are full details in another topic here (click the next bit for the link)
"Wrong Car Position After Software Update & New Map"
In order to fix it, I'm afraid your people need to get access to a PC so they can delete those files AND replace them with new ones. I realise that may not be easy or even possible while they are on their trip.
Major **bleep**-up time!

thanks Zsolt and Andy P,
seems the issue indeed.
It means they cannot use the tt untill they return back home.
Frustrating. Hopefully they don't buy a new navigation device locally (of a different brand.....).

I wonder if a pin reset on the unit will rectify the problem. Nothing to lose by trying it.
