Re: TomTom Go 720 and HTC Desire HD

Your phone is listed as compatible with GO720, albeit only for phone hands free, nothing else.

http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/phones.php?brandId=22&phoneId=440

A regular solution for lack of pairing is to persevere - quite simply try, try and keep trying again and eventually it will miraculously pair.

That's not a promise, but has been the method for many people. Patience and persistence is the key. By the way, just give the reset button on the 720 a good poke before you try again. Can't harm.

And maybe also try the Clearflash utility from TomTom. http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6178/kw/clearflash. It's a pretty undemonstrative tool, which is one way of saying that it doesn't tell you what it's doing or whether it is successful or anything at all!! Run it at least three times. This also does no harm and sometimes helps with unexplained problems.

Re: TomTom Go 720 and HTC Desire HD

Are you pairing for PLUS services?  The desire HD runs Android, and Android doesn't support Bluetooth DUN (without rooting and 3rd party hacks).  Bluetooth DUN is required for Tomtom PLUS.

If you're pairing for handsfree only, it should work.  Often following these steps installs more reliable bluetooth software on the 720.
