Dear Tom Tom Forum
My active Go720 was stolen right out of my glovebox during valet parking at a restarant on June 30.
I immediately logged in and changed my TomTom Home password so the creep could not access it. I unfortunately dont have my serial# as its attached to the unit and I never wrote it down anywhere. I can privately validate that I am the original owner and victim of the theft. I would like to formally report that device as officially stolen to TomTom.
Questions:
1) Will the thief still be able to just freely use that stolen device if he/she simply re-registers it under a new name?
If the thief can use it, can Tom Tom privately match my original device serial with any new recent activation under that same serial so I can track that thief?
2) Is there any way to track that device so the authorities can find the culprit?
Any options would be greatly appreciated.
