Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

Have done,  once for 9.400 and at least twice again after 9.401 up-date.

It only looks for the phone on start-up if HANDSFREE is enabled....

I appreciate you say you have another handsfree device but I suspect most people don't .  I guess the way TT have set it up now is to comply with the law that you can't use a mobile when driving a vehicle unless it is hands free.

Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

[ Edited ]

So now TomTom have appointed them selves the Nanny-state too???

If they want to insist that I use their handsfree feature they should improve its audio quality,

but as they can't get (relativly) simple OS upgrades right I don't hold much hope...

Oh yeah, and I found another bug today too!

If I select the route in the HOME-WORK menu short-cut it calculates, directs and follows the route correctly but doesn't update the time/distance to destination fields in the lower right segment of the display bar,

and in the same display segment the ETA time gets later minute by minute as it calculates that from the time to destination value which is stuck at the start of the route!

If I select HOME or WORK locations from POI's or RECENT DESTINATION menus the time and distance function correctly and the ETA is acceptably accurate.

I like the new screen/display bar lay-out,

and it doesn't crash & re-boot on start-up like it some-times did towards the end of V8.(what-ever I had),

BUT  a whole lot more that wasn't broke is now messed up.

It's all gone a bit  'Operator 42' (for those ofyou who Know Kevin B****y Wilson)!

Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

Have a look at TT HOME, under Manage my Tomtom, and then on the hard drive. As long as you downloaded an earlier version at some point, you should have it there.

Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

When I tried to update my TomTom  XL IQ Routes Edition it insists that I install
TomTom Application for TomTom ONE / XL / XXL / START / EASE (Navcore 9.401 )

I cannot choose not to because the select tick is disabled.

When I do update it I get an Error code: 573
Debug info from server: InvalidModelOrNavcoreException %3A The combination of model and navcore version provided is not supported.

When I tried  to use my TomTom  XL IQ Routes Edition it just shows the opening screen and then freezes.

I had to do the 20 second power button reset to switch it off.
I have gone back to  TomTom Application for TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition  (Navcore 8.415 )

But now I cannot get any updates because the select tick is disabled.

Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

TT HOME and 9.401 are full of bugs at the moment. You are better of on the older version right now.

Re: Navcore 9.401 UPDATE

I was very unhappy with the 9.401 UPDATE. My TomTom GO 950T slowed down signifficantly, was booting longer and showed frozen screens :-(

Luckily i saved a backup copy of my TomTom before the upgrade (copied directly from the TomTom with windows manager, not via Home). I just downgraded to Navcore 9.053 - the device now runs smoother and faster and I am going to leave it as it is.

Overall my 6 years experiance with TomTom devices has been frustrating. Specifically upgrading maps has been a nightmare. I am now seriously looking at other brands and my next navigation system for the car will almost certainly be a Garmin device. I have used their outdoor GPS models for years and have always been very happy with them.

Ive Just been told this by TomTom: Re: my  (TT 750 Go Live)

Quote TT: Help ? haha !??

I would like to inform you that the device will only provide the warning and not the speed limit.

Tomtom used to be realy good,,  Now they just mess with there devices to much.! :smileysad:(

Ive just restored mine to: v 9.061 Now its fine again all working properly as was before
