I bought this unit a couple years ago and love it. Recently I purchased the Cardo Scala teamset Pro for use on my Goldwing Motorcycle. Since both are blue tooth devices, I want to pair them up. However, The Tomtom wont pair. It says that it needs to pair to a HI FI device and the Teamset pro must not be. Can anyone help with getting them to pair???

Hi DaveClifton,
Your 730 device will not work with the headset as it doesn't have the Bluetooth profile needed to support headsets.

That's not completely true.
As DAve Clifton says, I bought my Go730 just to use it on my previous HONDA VFR, and it has been working perfectly paired with my MIDLAND's BT2, few phones and other BTheadsets for more than a couple of years. I knew it the same way TT does, and thats why tt changed their Bootloaders and navcores through TTHome "recommended" updates , to LIMIT THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT USE, only to those who wants to spend thier money in the RIDER model, wich is much more expensive, with less functionality, having a smaller screen.
That's why, sometimes, most recent updates NOT always are the best ones
Now that I updated my device, i can't use BT on my Go730 any more. So it has no sense to wear it on my motorbike if i need to apart the sight from the road to see what i used to hear, gps indications, radars, etc...
My question is: Does TT offer any solution to their customers in order to continue using their device as they planned when the bought it ??? Something like a downgrade to return to previous state of functionality?

I look forward to Tom Tom's response as many TT users like myself have a device (Go 720 with Bluetooth) they wish pair with their Cardo Scala Bluetooth headset.
I agree that the TT Rider devices are inferior in specification to my Go720 and do not wish to downgrade or get another device just to use on my Honda Fireblade.
I await Tom Tom's response

Gents,
I just bought a Cardo ScalaRider FM for use with my TomTom G530 as you have all advised it does not pair. So frustrating,
Cardo have advised me that only the following TomTom models pair with their Rider range.
TOMTOM Rider 1st Edition (except for scala-rider G4 and SRCS)
* TOMTOM Rider 2nd Edition, TOMTOM Urban Rider,
Such a waste of money. I dont think there is a fix solution unless anyone knows other wise.
Cheers

I have just upgraded to a G4 and the HI-FI headset conects then disconnects in a 3 second cycle. with the ready availability of waterproof cases and RAM mounts why would I want to buy a second overpriced motorbike specific sat nav. I have one for thecar. If I don't get a satisfactory resolution I will go elsewhere. As a customer support manager I expect that TomTom support will Apologise, Empathise and try to tell me they have a solution and expect me to be grateful for the fact that this will cost me £450. I do like TomTom products however their support is mediocre at best, most of the time it is borderline rude.

I have done a bit more work on this. i can connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones, a JVC earbud Bluetooth receiver and my i-phone 4 to the 730. i am about to start on Cardo as they must be as culpable as TomTom in this.
