Well here we all are with exactly the same problem.
I'm not sure if anyone has actually resolved any of the issues raised in this forum with Tom Tom, or had the offer of a reimbursement or exchange, once the fact is established that the problem cannot be fixed without paying for its repair.
It also seems to me, utterly galling, to have to pay for a repair that is the fault of the software provided by the manufacturer.
I wonder has anyone here heard of, "Not Fit For Purpose". With regard to a suit against the manufacturer of goods that are as the phrase suggests, unfit for the purpose for which they were sold.
I for one feel that I have been sold a device, that is actually unusable.
If anyone with more knowledge feels that there is a case against Tom Tom please let me know.
Why are we stuck with this problem. its not of our making and it should be the responability of Tom Tom to resolve it ASAP.
Good luck with your problems and i hope you manage to resolve them soon...!
And now maybe a note from a regulator.

Hello
I have a go 940 live which every so often goes into a continuous loop of restarting, I have found a fix which only takes a few seconds.
I have a back up of sat nav from a few months ago, (not a tomtom home backup) I opened it up as a external HD and copied all files and folder to computer HD
inside the hard drive of satnav, there is a stat data folder. (no idea what it is) but the fault seems to be in this one folder. I just replace this one folder and sat nav works fine again.
When updating map share etc through tomtom home, i have a feeling this messes up the satnav, but if you keep a copy of this folder on your computer easy fix....saves losing all information on satnav

Hi Calibra 2001,
Thanks for your post and congratulations on fixing your Satnav.
I also managed to fix my GO 750 LIVE, without any assistance from TT.
I posted it in Forums "Device looping or stuck at startup."
Your fix seems to find the specific file fault, but i coulnd't find one particular file that was causing the problem,
so i decided to go for broke and reformat the device.
Works a treat now.
Cheers.

No problem...hope my finding helps some users instead of paying tomtom stupid money for them to fix a fault that their software causes. My friend was quoted £80 just to send it to them to look at. I fixed it in under 10 mins free. I used my stat data folder on his sat nav with no more problems so far.
