Hello,

Since the last navcore update , the french synthesis voice has a lot of errors of prononciation on very common and used words like "mètres (meters)", "Vous êtes arrivés à destination (you arrived to your destination)", ... . It became unbearable and so I had to change for a recorded voice in order to be able to continue to travel with my GO.

I hope this problem will be solved soon. Otherwise I will try to go back to the previous version of the software.

Hi,

the navcore update should not affect the voice commands.

So before installing the old software onto your device, you can try to reinstall the voice only.

Simply delete the voice via TomTom Home by using [manage my GO] on page two of the main menu.

Select [voices] and delete the voice causing the issue from the device.

After that, go to page one in the main menu and click on [add traffic, voices, speed cameras etc.] - [voices] - [computer voices] and select the computer voice you would like to install.

After that it should be working fine

I have the same problem as Palecase.

My language is spanish, my Tomtom is 720.

Some days ago, after updating Navcore 9.400, the Carmen voice begun to work very bad. It looks to be a new and very extrange language. I´ve updated again, with new 9.401 but the problem continues.

I´ve deleted Carmen voice via TomTom Home, and I´ve installed Jorge voice (computer voice, also), the problem continues.

I think the new Apl. 9.xxx is faulty, and I think it (YES) AFFECTS the way the voices works, because they are "computer voices"

Do anybody know if Tomtom is working for solving this issue?

Personaly, I loaded my backup version (done before update to navcore 9.400 and 9.401 and yes I also tried with this one).

The synthesis voice trouble disapeared: the synthesis voice is again clear and understandable.

I didn't change the installed synthesis voice during all these tries.

So I agree with you Pablospp, the problem is in the algorithm in charge of recreate the voice in the sofware which is wrong in 9.4.

I will remain on my old version in order to have the righ information when I'm on the road and the synthesis voice is too efficient for me to not use it).

But I not able any longer to update quickfix and mapshare because navcore 9.4x is a mandatory update in TomTom Home 2 software.

Quite disapointed to be forced to update to a new software wich is not working as least with equal quality than its previous version.

I hope one of the tomtom developers will find the bug and the fix in navcore 9.4x branch and will deliver a usefull update.

By now, i have not heard about this issue from other customers.

But of course i will forward it immediately, as your actions show that it can be related to the navcore version.

No doubt all of our software goes through testing before we launch it, therefore my apologies when an update might had negative consequences on the devices performance. We would not have released it when we would have known of this problem, that is for sure.

As soon as i know more i will update you!

Sometimes, people is lazy to write :-) Mainly when it is not in his own language :-) So that, probably, other customers with the same problem don´t write.

I´m sure your SW goes through testing before you launch it, of course. Now, I hope the bugg be corrected as soon as possible. Probably, as Palecase do, I´ll go back to my previous version, till the update arrives.

I now have the confirmation that the addressed problem can occur after the update.

We are currently investigating how this can be solved. As far as I am informed this does not affect all devices.

Of course we are testing everything (as far as we can) before we publish updates, and believe me, we really feel sorry when customers are experiencing issues caused by faulty updates.

Happy to hear that you can load your backup, that is why we always recommend to create one before updating.

For the customers without a backup: simply use a non-computer voice until the update is ready, I cannot give any details when this will be, as we need to test the new application this usually can take a little.

Hello,

I have the same problem with the french voice on my GO 920 since the last update of the application. I did the restauration of my device with an earlier version and the probleme is solved. However, I can no longer do any update of  my Go, unless I reinstall the new update that cause this problem. What should I do??

Hello dianen,

in your situation, i would wait until the next update is available, as there is no possibility to update the device without updating the application.

You can check if the offered application version by clicking on more info button right underneath the applications name. The application that you don't want to install is the version 9.401. But until the newer application version is available, it might take a little. So i would suggest to connect your device maybe once a week, in order to see if the new application is available.

Of course you can also update the version 9.401, and use a recorded voice instead until the new one can be installed.
