Help please
I have an old go 500, hardly used.
I purchased new map of western europe & tried to load/upgrade
Was told my card was too small so bought a new one [it was faulty so had to pay to get my 500 repaired]
Put in the new vard last night & uploaded new map ............ took almost 3 hours to upload.
Tried to switch the 500 on; got the drums etc and then it switched itself off.
Left it on charge all night
Same problem again this morning
Have done the reset but still no change
Any thoughts please ............... Have spent the last 3-4 weeks trying to sort the problem in good time for trip to europe but now heading off to France next week ................!!!!!

Your particular model must have the App and a Voice installed on your card before a map can be installed. Your map may still be on your computer and not installed. Reconnect to Tom TomHome, and go to Update my GO to get the application. If a voice is offered at the same time also install that, if a voice is not offered go to Manage My GO and see if you have a voice on your computer (Items on my computer) and select to add that to your GO. Also check to see if you have a map on your GO. If not, check for that on Items on My Computer and install that.
Safely disconnect (Device/Disconnect Device) and restart. If it still does not show a map, go back to Manage My Go and remove any maps from your device, and copy to your computer. Now go back and see if your map is available to you.

Hi Sallor 225
Apologies for the delay in responding ......... server down [again!!!]
I tried your suggestions but no luck
So, I deleted the map from my go & then re-laoded [1st the app, then the voice, then the map] ............ still the same:
Launches with drum sound then switches itself off after a minute or two.
I noticed that if I press & hold the on button that the reset screen comes on. Don't know if this has any significance?
Any other suggestions would be most appreciated.

PS:
When I connect the go to my laptop I see that it shows the voice the app & the map as being on the device ..............
So is this just a question of the go not getting going??!

What happens if you connect to TTHome and use Operate My GO to navigate to some point in your city, then when complete tap Done and safely disconnect. This sometimes helps after an update. Also, I am wondering if your battery is ok. If you can do this navigation through Operate my GO, but it still won't work when disconnected perhaps your battery is bad.

Hi Sallor 225
Thanx again for your advice
I connected to my PC but now get a message saying device is not connected
Tried turning it on & off
Tried re-laoding TTHome
No luck
Afraid I now have to give up on it ........... we are off to France in the next 24 hours & I've run out of time .......... will buy myself an old fashioned paper map on the way and try again in a few months when we get back [if we don't get lost along the way!]
Thanx again for your efforts ....... much appreciated
Regards

Enjoy your trip! Sorry you have to use a paper map. By the way, when you hold the on button you do get a reset, and you should hear a double drum roll at the end of it.
