I cannot get my VIA to connect to my computer, and I do have MyTomTom. I have also downloaded updates for it before, but there is a speed camera update that is available for my device right now and I cannot connect my device. I use the TomTom USB cable, connect my device, it charges, but MyTomTom does not detect my device and my device does not detect my PC. Are there any troubleshooting tips that you can give me?

Delete all TomTom apps (Home and MyTomTom) from your computer. Reinstall MyTomTom and allow it to start with windows. Restart your computer then connect your VIA. You will probably have to log into your MyTomTom account linked to your VIA1500. All should be fine.

I tried that and it did not work. The only app that i have installed is MyTomTom and that is all that I have needed in the past.
I uninstalled that app, reinstalled it, logged in, and plugged my GPS device in and switched it on. My computer did not recognize the device or the device did not recognize the computer, however, it did say "charging" so it did detect the power source from the USB cable.
