Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

I recently purchased a TomTom VIA 1505M, which does not come with the traffic receiver.  I am wondering if the traffic receiver is available for purchase for the VIA 1505M.  Thanks.

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

I am still waiting for a reply on this.  I have yet to see where the RDS-Traffic Cable from the Via 1505TM is offered separately for purchase to use with the Via 1505M.

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

Ok here's what I found out,not what you want to hear.....

TomTom doesn't market the receiver that you need for your Via

separately from the units. They come bundled with the T or TM versions

but if you have just the Via 1535 they don't sell it.....

I just looked on ebay and ther's a bunch of them. here's the model # from mine

4UUC5B (4UUC.001.05B) This fits my Via 1535,yours will be the same.Look for this only as

the TMC receivers for our Via's have a micro usb connector so you have to be

specific, the connector on the older versions that fit older Go and XXL series have a mini usb.

Sorry this is all I can tell you.I went directly to TomTOm with your question

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

Great info.  Thank you.  I purchased the Via 1505M only because it was on sale the day after Thanksgiving.  I think the traffic receiver would be a "nice to have" not a necessity for me.  Thanks for your prompt replies.

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

Hi, yes there are a lot of entries, with a lot of duplicates. Could you be s littl more specific with how you found that specific part number 4UUC.001.05B? such as the link to that seller? Not all have that part number in thier description. Thanks

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

HI John,

The link wasn't for a specific seller,it was a link to the site. Sorry but I'm not doing all the footwork...

The part number is from my TMC reciever,I have a Via1535TM.This is the reciever that fits it,that's why I said to be specific

about which one get's purchased (IF one get's purchased)..the older style has a different usb connection at the unit.

I know they aren't very informative sometimes on ebay or Amazon but that's hard part,With all the listings it'l take a little time to find the right part.....

I still don't really understand why they don't sell them separately from the units, doesn't make any sense to me....

Anyway, search the auction sites with the part number I listed,it's right off mine.....

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

Hi, I went out to ebay, and found about 4 pages of TomTom traffic receivers, where all were for the older models and not the VIA.  Only one had part of the part number in the description. So i had to look at each one in turn. Yes why does TomTom make is so hard to one for the 1505 M, if you found one for the 1535TM, then it must first be on the Tomtom site, with the correct part number. For now it looks like the answer to the original problem question is not really fixed, since only you have been able to find one. That Ebay seller Site must have removed thier lisiting since you got yours. Unless you have the sellers heading name that they used to list the item. That way one could search on that listed selling name of product. Thanks.

Re: Traffic Receiver for VIA 1505M

John,

First, I marked this thread as "solution solved" because I was only looking to see if the traffic receiver was available.  It is not available directly from TomTom as stated above.

Second, there is one available on ebay that is for the Via series and it is listed for $100.  To me $100 is a little steep for a traffic cable when I purchased my 1505M for $80 the day after Thanksgiving.
