Re: Incoming text messages

Verify that the computer reads the text messages when they are received:

  • Tap on the navigation screen;
  • Tap on 'Settings';
  • Go to 'Voices';
  • Go to 'Voice preferences';
  • Verify that the setting 'Read text messages is set';
  • Tap 'Ok';

When you receive messages, then they now should be automaticly read aloud. Unless you've set in the settings that you have to accept the voice to read the message first.

If the computer voice doesn't read the messages, then there's the possibility that this function isn't compatible with your iPhone.

Having the latest phone doesn't guarantee that all the functions will work. Have a Blackberry 9800 Torch myself (one of the latest models), and the text messages aren't supported for this phone.

If you are a Mac guy, check out PhoneView. It does a whole bunch of awesome things including letting you export SMS and MMS messages to your Mac so you can do whatever you want with iPhone Data Recovery. Next, just paste it in an email to yourself with copy/paste. Bring up you email via the HTML file then print texts on iPhone on PC. It's worked pretty well for me.
