Deleting "recent destinations"

Hi, can someone plese explain how to delete from the "Recent destinations" page of my GO700. I can delete from my "favourites" page one at a time, but on the "Recent destinations" I can only delete ALL the entries & not be able to select. I've also realised I can't add  some "recent destinations" I wish to keep for now, onto my favourites listings & then delete the rest.:smileyfrustrated:

Cheers

Re: Deleting "recent destinations"

It's all or nothing on the Recent Destinations screen. You can make a favourite and use a recent destination as a source. Do that for all recent destinations you want to keep and THEN remove recent destinations.

Re: Deleting "recent destinations"

Hi, thanks for your reply, but I have also received, according to my mail, a PM. But the question now is, how do I access my PMs? I have re-logged in, searched around for where I can find my PM, but nothing is jumping out at me, so I have no idea what else I can do!

Also, after posting my 2 queries, I changed my email address on my profile, to my hotmail address, which is showing correctly, but am receiving replies on my original address that I seldom use now. Sorry to be a pain. :smileyfrustrated:

Private messages

To access the private messages on the forum:

Below the menu at the top of the website, at the right side click on the envelope icon.

Try the following:

Below the menu at the top of the website, at the right side click on my settings.

  • Click on the tab preferences;
  • In the 'white' menu bar, click on private messenger;
  • Disable turn on private messenger and click on save;
  • Re-enable turn on private messenger and click on save;

The new email adress should now hopefully be used.:smileywink:

Re: Deleting "recent destinations"

Are you sure? What model do you have?

Every device I have shows a 'delete' button at the bottom of Recent Destinations screens along with a 'select' and 'cancel' button.

To delete the destinations:

  • Tap on the navigation screen;
  • When a route is planned, tap clear route;
  • Tap navigate to;
  • Go to recent destination;
  • Tap the remove button at the bottom of the screen, located between the back and search button;

When there are desinations into the list but the button isn't visible:

Try to perform a full reboot (all settings are kept):

* Make sure that the device has enough battery power left, otherwise connect to a power source.

Press and hold the power button for 15 - 30 seconds untill a drum roll sound is being heard, release the button after hearing the sound and wait untill the navigation screen is displayed.

Are you able to tap on each adress seperately? Perhaps this allows to remove a destination from the list.

Try to do a reset (all settings are kept):

http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6965/kw/reset

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

  1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
    Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
  2. Remove the SD card
    If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
  3. Reset your device.
    Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for at least 20 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.
  4. Turn your device on.
    Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.
  5. Insert the SD card
    If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

Where to find the reset button

The reset button is on the bottom of your TomTom device.
