Is there another source for the download? I doubt its going to ever finish as it is so slow and 19 hours is too long not to expect a lost connection.

@akobus
If not already done, download and install the myTomTom Support Application:
http://www.tomtom.com/getstarted
Connect the device to the computer, the update page will open in the default browser where all available updates can be downloaded / installed to the device.
Activate the code
On the TomTom website, click on the green myTomTom menu button in the menu and click on 'Activate Code' after being logged in to the website. Follow on screen instructions to activate the code.
When there would be any issues to activate the code, contact the TomTom Support Team so they can activate it onto your account:

@Stefan, Thank you for taking the time to reply but that's what the first approximately 1,200 emails from TomTom support said to do (and I've already done it). The problem is that I get an error message when entering the code that is printed on my product insert. I haven't been able to call on the phone due to work schedules not allowing me to call them when they''re open for phone support.

I was sincerely hoping someone on the forum could assist me. Even if I get through on the phone to support, I fear I'll have to explain all over again that I've followed every direction they've given and am stuck with thiserror.

I prefer Chorme for a browser, but, I think I got the thing to wokr with IE to start it up.
It launched updates under Chrome just fine.
I am not convinced they have the GPS acquire fixed in the 1605 yet, the update made it better, but, sometimes I can be halfway there before it fiugres out where it is;

@akobus
You will have to contact Customer Support as their bug infested URLs cannot cope with users actually entering promo codes.
To see how bad try to validate the URL using the industry standard verifier http://validator.w3.org ![]()
