TomTom will not switch off

I have a tom tom live 1000  it has started to switch off and on all the time resetting itself . I can’t switch it off at all. can anyone help

Try a soft reset, press and hold the on/off button for 10-15 seconds until you hear the TomTom drums. No settings lost
