Admin edit: Make sure to start by reading the instructions here carefully: Mandatory software update to restore GPS signal
Install Google Chrome or Firefox or Internet Explorer (in compability view mode) or Opera. Make sure that you have the latest Java and Adobe Flash Player installed.
Empty the cache (in order to be able to start the update):
Update the unit to APP version 11.037 (you can check after the update: SETTINGS – ME AND MY DEVICE – ABOUT MY DEVICE)
Go outside and do a soft reset. Press and HOLD the ON button until you hear the drum roll. Whatever happens, don’t release the button until the drum roll is on. And don't forget, if there is no drum roll, you didn't do the reset.
Some devices take their time to lock in at the first time (15-20 inutes). Make sure you are outdoors, yet it might take long time for the first lock.
Other solution for the reset: Press the ON button all the way until the diagnostic screen and leave it outdoors like this for 15-20 minutes. Then switch it OFF, wait a minute, switch it back on.
You can also wait for the battery to drain, charge it up, and like 10-20 minutes later you can try to switch ON. That should perform a reset as well.
The key is, CHECK THE SIGNAL OUTDOORS, not in the basement, next to the computer.
To speed up the satellite lock, try to plan a route whilst waiting for the signal.
