ive just bought a go1005 and im tryingto find out if you can set a maximum speed for route planning as you can on my old 720e ,can anyone help?

I agree. I drive Semi truck for a living. 60 m.p,h. is the Max speed limit for us.  The tomtom XXL550 tm had that on it . I bought what I thought was an updated more feature filled unit the via 1605. But, this is not on it.   I like the unit other then that missing feature. Not being able to have the proper arrival tome stated on the unit is a real bummer. Bout it a costco. I might have to return it .

a lot of truck drivers use this facility to plan their driving day,it is a very useful tool.and a lot of truck drivers who use sat navs will avoid one that doesnt have this facility

Totally agree, I've had a GO520 for 4 years and having set the max speed of 50mph (the average speed on a trip) the arrival time at my destination would be accurate to a couple of minutes.

4 days ago I purchased a Go Live 1000, and as well as the fact that the live services didn't work I have returned it and had a full refund, the main reason being that the "set speed" function was not available on that model.

Should TT decide to update them to include that function I may consider buying one.

Restricted speed has been asked for constantly since the release of the 1*** devices.

To be fair they have had to get all the other promised/advertised features working first.. which in itself was a joke.

Of course with all the requests for limited speed TT smelled a quick buck and recently released the camper van version which is the same device with the small software code change and hey presto a whole load of even more disgruntled customers.

TT failed to realise that all the people asking for the function already own the device and refuse to be burned twice.

There is supposedly an SD card option on its way which is really handy considering there is no SD card slot on the 1005.

this is a old discussion about the max speed and i can't find a normal anser from tomtom.

I'm a coachdriver and this function is really necessary for doing my work. People are asking all the time: what time are whe on the next stop. If i can't set a max speed of 100 km/h what do i have to tell them? Due to driving laws i have to stop driving after 4,5 hours. If i can't set a max speed of 100km/h I cant be sure about my exact ETA.

What will be the next function/button removed from the next TomTom series? The navigate to button??

Please TomTom, respond and put the function back!!
