Problem when i travel via another point to destination

Hi guys

I have this problem with my tom tom "top gear" edition whereby when I plot a route and use a travia via point so that  I can particularly choose the way I want to go, the tom tom wants to take me into the centre of the place I have used as a via point instead of just taking me to my destination using the via point as purely for the direction basis.

My tom tom 530 does it no problem but my new go live "top gear" insists on taking me off course to the centre of my via point before it will take me to my destination. If I ignore the via point and carry on to the destination it will try and turn me around to go to the via point again.

If you have any suggestions I would be most grateful.

Regards

Hi

Just tried it on my Via 120 live I set up a route Bewdley to Richards Castle and then told it to go via Ludlow and it indeed says "Ludlow (city center)"  but above that it says Street, I typed "Foldgate" it offered Foldgate view I accepped it asked house No, I typed "15" pressed OK

route calculated correctly Bewdley to Richards Castle Via 15 Foldgate view Ludlow. ????

Re: Problem when i travel via another point to destination

I have a similar sitution on two well tried routes from Darlington Co Durham!!

One to Banbury near Oxford and the second to  Harwich Docks.

On both trips Tom Tom routes me down country back lanes to get to my destination and both are longer and time consuming.

When I try to ignor the chosen route, T-T spends all its time trying to divert me back to the original route. All very frustating and anoying in so much as I have to revert to tried and tested road maps.

I have checked right through the T=T menu and can find nothing relating to this universal problem

COME ON TOM TOM GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND LISTERN TO US LONG SUFFERING MOTORIST

FRUSTATED

Hi

@BARNEYGOOGLE

I assume you select <Fastest Route> when planning ???.

Re: Problem when I travel via another point to destination

Hi there,

Yes I do select the fastest route as well as all other opions available on T-T . I have also tried travel via the nearest town on route. I will be traveling to Harwich Docks tomorrow the 25th July. I will have to direct T-T to go to Bishop's Stortford and then re program the route on the A120 to Harwich !! That is unless you have any other ideas.
