No Maps found!

Hi,

Please can you help with this issue.

I have a Via Live series navigator and it started giving me the "No maps found!" error message. I tried re-installing MyTomTom and also purchased the Map Update Service for new maps for the next 12 months.

Yet this is not resolved.

Please can you advise?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: No Maps found!

I have the same problem with a Via 1435TM. I din't it occured during the last map update. When I got back to the MyTomTom web site, I got a red bos saying that I had not enough space but since the Via has no way of browsing its content, I can't see the problem.

Re: No Maps found!

hi bkqc, try doing a reset on your 1435tm..hold the power button down for about 10 or 15 sec's..when you hear a drum roll..release the power button..this is suppose to reset the gps back to factory settings.

Re: No Maps found!

I tried resetting that way but it would not work.

Strangely, when you go on to the "Manage Content" section after connecting the device, it recognises the maps and the version and says that it is stored on the device, but the device still displays "No maps found!"

This is a very strange and recurring issue on this forum - unfortunately does not have a solution yet. I happened to spend more money to get the map update service as well but is of no use as the device would just not recognise any maps.

Re: No Maps found!

try clicking on the check for new maps..or what ever it's called ?....there is also a hard reset..which i do not know how that goes ?. if i'm understanding you right ...your mytomtom is telling you your current map version...but you have no maps installed on your gps ...right ?..then this tells me your gps has lost it's maps some how ??. do the check for new updates from your '' mytomtom ''..see if you can down load new map updates ??..and clear your cache from your mytomtom before you plug your gps in..and turn it on !.

Re: No Maps found!

Hi all,

as there are a few problems known when working with the myTT application I'll post the solutions to those problems below. Usually you'll need only one or two of the solutions below so you may try them one by one as well so you know which solved the problem or just at the same time.

  1. Set either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as default browser.
  2. Download and install the myTT application: http://www.tomtom.com/getstarted
  3. Make sure the myTT application is allowed to fully access the internet and isn't blocked by any antivirus or firewall software.
  4. Change the port settings of your myTT application from port 4000 to i.e. 4001 or 5000.
  5. I also recommend changing your preferences that future data gets downloaded first without the need of having the device connected to your computer.
  6. Connect your device to your computer, go to your network connections and set the network symbolizing your device as trusted network.
  7. Open the myTT application, log in using your account and link your device to that account. Keep in mind that you'll need a separate account with a different e-mail-address for each device.
  8. Always install application updates first without any other updates. After having installed all application updates install the other updates.
  9. Always plug your device in a USB port directly on your computer and not in any USB hub.
  10. Make sure neither the device nor the computer enters any kind of power saving modus during the installation process.
  11. Clear the cache of both the myTT application and the browser and try again.
  12. Try another USB cable to check if it is a cable issue.
  13. Make sure you've got the latest version of the Adobe flash player installed.

Regards

Lars.

It says :

Your navigation device is up-to-date. There are no updates waiting for installation.

Re: No Maps found!

Still gives the same msg - not sure what u meant - I cleared the cache and then connected the device again - the device switched on with the same "No maps found!" msg and after clicking the check for new items, the msg displayed was still the same.

Re: No Maps found!

i would say you need to speak with a cs rep from tomtom...unless they don't see where you purchased new maps ?..there is something wrong for sure.
