Since this morning, my Tomtom Go Live 1000 has been rebooting approx every 5 minutes when switched on. On top of this the following additional problems are showing..
* When rebooted it defaults all the settings back to factory default.
* Live services don't connect at all.
* Device doesnt charge (immediately turns off when cable disconnected.
The device recently updated the application (10.111) and the maps which came available (8.65) same day they were released (during March 2011)
The 1000 has been a complete nightmare for me since day 1. Sadly its destroying my confidence in tomtom completely.
I'm reluctant to call TomTom Customer service, as i have no confidence in them whatsoever.
So if anyone out there has a solution, please let me know.
Unless someone can provide a solution or fix, its going back to the retailer on monday for a full refund.

Sorry, but you will need to call (don't email) CS to have them try to sort out your issues.

I've tried calling, and emailing tomtom on numerous occasions regarding the problematic 1000, with what I would clearly call a "don't care" approach and attitude from tomtom, so I was hoping someone from the forum community may have experienced something similar, and found a solution.
The 1000 is definitely going back for refund on Monday, most likely the last tomtom I'll ever own. Apart from the HD traffic feature, there's really nothing of value in this device at all, or any clear reliability.

3 days later.... still no response from tomtom. now the retailer i purchased this from tells me it could take up to 2 weeks to have it assessed, and longer for an attempt to repair the almost dead device.

Sounds like there is a corrupt file on your device. There isn't much you can do to resolve that.
Have you tried "reset all settings" from the menu?
You may want to first go to "add shared POI" in myTomtom and download your favorites/POI first, so you don't have to rekey them after "reset all settings" erases them.

Ive tried everything, factory reset (from menu), hard reset (hold power button down), you name it.
Its nearly a week since i sent question to tomtom technical support, and still no reply. I'm fully disgusted in tomtom in general.

I'm sure it got corrupted. I'd suggest calling TT support, emails are much less effective. They can arrange a warranty swap.

Mine has also started doing the same, constant rebooting, not charging and cannot connect to the services. Have emailed no response yet - Mine started after an update, as there are a lot of us I suspect any corrupt file came from the update???
