When is TomTom releasing the next quarterly map update for my 1535 TM? The last one was in 07/2011 and is ver. 875.3656  It's now Oct. 31. So much for quarterly updates.

Afaik maps were published always around mid quarter, so the last map should have been published around mid august and the next one should be published around mid november, but this can vary a little bit.

and the next maps may carry 10/11 as a release date and may be published around mid november

The map is compiled in the 7th month (juli), however TomTom has to test the map thoroughly before making it available on the servers for all devices.

A map comes out every 3 months (februari, may, august and november). The date can vary, but you can expect it to be released between the first of the month or half way the month. A map being released near the end of the month is rare.

Latest European map I have (just updated) is 880-3808 dated End October 2011
