Hi,
I have a GO 750 Live and have returned from Spain and lost the use of my satnav. The device lost the sat connection and would only show that it was planning the route and was waiting for a valid gps signal. This lasted for 2 days and 1400kms....
I have now found how to reset my device but am concerned that this might happen again and is it a fault that needs to be fixed...?
Any help and advice would be grateful
Mike

The problem probably was caused by an outdated >>>QuickGPSfix<<< file. Normally it should be downloaded either via HOME or 'on the air' so something must have gone wrong during your visit in Spain, maybe due to bad signal reception.

I had the same problem with my navigation system recently.
- No valid sattelite signal for a long time.
- Sattelite connection fell away at random times when driving.
The following steps can solve the problem:
Fully charge the battery of your navigation device.
1 - connect your navigation system to the computer.
2 - make a full backup with TomTom home.
3 - safely disconnect the device from the computer.
4 - hard reset your navigation system: press and hold the on/off button for about 15 seconds untill the moment it restarts and you should hear a drum roll sound.
Wait untill the navigation device is being restarted (a picture appears while the device is resetting itself, and displays this picture untill the reset is completed).
The only setting that get lost is the time-zone of the clock, all other settings stay intact.![]()

The problem happened whilst driving so the device was fully charged. The device is less than 6 months old and even after connecting it before we left to update everything and then connecting it again when we arrived home to up load information the problem was still not resolved. It was only after completing a master re-set did the problem rectify itself.

Some cars have a GPS-blocking windscreen. If you lay your device in the open air for about 15 minutes, does it get a fix then?

I have a 1005 and it often has random restarts where the screen reverts to the screen saver - does anybody have any ideas about how to fix this ? Komrush

Re Go Live 1005 6 months old
Can anyone help, I have a problem loosing the GPS Signal whilst driving all the time, seen a post to perform a master reset on a different model then mine, saying to perform a back up using Tom Tom Home 1st, but I don't think this software is compatible with mine.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated

I recently updated my GO 750 on line and after that I could not get a 'valid GPS signal'. I have managed to get one but occasionally it gives the same message. I now find TOMTOM knew about it ,it is a 'bug' that needs a fix, which they are working on! Would have been nice if they had made it Public so we could have been saved all the trouble!!
