I require assistance with my tom tom go 1000. When i hit the navigate to button sometimes the the "address"(25%of the time) button is greyed out and i can not enter an address. "My location" button is always greyed out making it unusable to find my current location. this is my second go 1000 as my first one was bricked and they both had the same problem. I have gone through the forums and not seen anything relating to this error. Any asstance would be much appreciated.

Do you have a gps signal when that is happening? Without the signal, the unit doesn't know where you are.

I have exactly the same problem. Most of the time, I think that when the device is fully loaded I don't have it (empiric, no scientific evidence). So in general, I have to wait for about 15 minutes before having the opportunity to enter an address...

I have begun experiencing this problem also. It is very frustrating considering I am currently traveling around countries that I do not know. I need the address button to be able to navigate to our accommodation or tourist spots. I hope some one from Tom tom is reading this and will be able to rectify shortly. At this point in time I am not ready to recommend my device to others. Please fix.

Are you sure that previous route is fully complete? I often lack a few meters, and have to press on the screen of my unit and choose "delete route"

I wish it was that easy. I aways clear the previous route before starting again. Yesterday I started the GPS and was able to click on navigate to an address button. As I wa entering the the city I realised I had spelt it wrong so returned to the navigate page only to then have the address part greyed out. FRUSTRATING! How can this be when it was woeking just 10 seconds before?

Try resetting the unit by holding the power button about 15 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.
