GPS - anywhere between 50 metres and 200 metres out.

I updated my 720 on 30/06 with new maps and speed camera updates.
It subsequently worked once absolutely perfectly as it always has done. However on all subsequent occasions it does not located my position correctly and consequently gives inaccurate route directions. It is only out by a few hundred meters but as an example I was driving on the M4 and it showed me driving through a neighbouring field and th eRiver Severn!

When at home it shows my location as being about 2 mins down the road and my current position and on the tom tom screen I can see my home location marked.
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be and more importantly what the resolution may be.

I have downloaded quickfix gps

I have follwed instructions on http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16319

I have done a reset

And no good.

Posted on another forum as I coudln't work out how to post here but finally managed it - judging by the response and twitter I am not alone.

Thanks in advance.

Download a new gps file using Home. Will correct issues with the faulty one from the weekend.

Hi

I have already done that 5 mins before posting - still out of sync. It has just given me a 5 min journey to get home and guess where I am.

Re: GPS - anywhere between 50 metres and 200 metres out.

Try to remove the QuickGPSfix complately, from the device and from the PC, and reset the device (soft reset via the pin hole). If no luck, try to update it again, and one more soft reset.
