This Device has been a disappointment since day 1. Not only was it incredibly expensive, but after only 5 months of use, the unit is turning of every time my car charger becomes dislodged. Support is very unhelpful basically blaming me, and telling me they can not troubleshoot the device because it does not show up as a drive on my computer. I don't recollect this device ever showing up on my computer, which was another complaint, the lack of ability to customize this device through downloads. I understand why Best Buy stopped carrying this model, and I hope I can get further with them on this issue than I did with the TomTom Support woman who was busy talking down to me. This is my 4th TomTom device, and I depend heavily on it, but after the angst I just received, I believe Google Navigator is in my future.

hi just a thought you havent got it set to power down when external power lost have you
settings=battery saving- make sure the "device stays on when external power is lost" is checked

shame worth a try though,sorry to hear about your experience with tomtom.have they offered you any direction (exuse the pun)as to what steps to take if the battery is faulty

as for the adviser she needs to look at there own site ,the chargers they sell clearly states

After charging the unit overnight, the result is the samae. I called TomTom Support this morning and they were very helpful this time. They immediately agreed to swap out the unit. I'm thankful I finally got to deal with a professional.

hi glad to hear you all sorted ,its a shame you sometimes have to call them a few times to finally get through to a employee that wants to help ,how much easier it would be if they were all helpfull.

They agreed to swap mine out too, but it's just sitting at TomTom since last month because they have no replacements to send! So now I have nothing at all... thanks, TomTom.
