+1 for route logging.
On my 920 I use a thirdparty utility to log where I've been, and generate maps, statistics etc.
I use i it a lot on e.g. vacations to find out "what was the name of that nice village we passed on that day" - or even co-relate timestamp of pictures taken with timestamp of GPS-log.
Itiniary planning is also very important - I use it a lot to plan different routes - and to evaluate where to go by which routes.

Ability to report a stolen device:
Since the newest devices are closed source, I believe it should be possible to report a stolen or lost device to TomTom:
Report the device (verify that you are the owner):
Next time when the specific device with reported serial number makes connection to myTomTom, or with live services (by the use of the unique sim card number in the device?), the unit could become 'De-activated'.
De-activation process:
A small file could be installed onto the device through live services or by connecting to myTomTom when the device is reported as stolen or lost. Also all updates are de-activated as long the device is reported (can be done by serial number?).
When this file exists onto the device, it will be still able to startup (but displays a 'fixed') screen at startup, and doesn't allow the recognition of 'screen touch' pressures. The person who stole the device or found (when its being lost) can't do anything with the device as long this file exists onto the device.
If someone is really clever and can install a new hard drive, no updates would be offered as long the device is being reported as stolen or lost.
Fixed Screen: with a friendly question to send back 'free of charge' to TomTom (so there's a chance to get the unit back). TomTom could send the lost device back to their customer, and re-enable to receive updates, remove the small file from the unit, remove the status that the device is stolen or lost.

re deactivation process ,after reading a few posts it seems tomtom already have one its called an update
but seriously though do you think they would go to all that trouble when we will just buy a new one ,and if they did there would probably be a yearly cost for the service .good suggestion though pity they dont have a camera built in so it could email you a picture of there face when the unit becomes a brick aswell a kodak moment![]()

Much less devices would get stolen when they become useless after being reported as stolen or lost. ![]()

Even better, let Police learn the where-abouts of a stolen device .-D

I agree with with your list, but here in NZ we already have Live Traffic service which is good but we dont have the ability to use the "Google Search" function because of some inability of Tomtom to get the licencing side sorted. This is extremely limiting especially when the shop assistant assured me that ALL services that are loaded or embedded on the GO LIVE 1000 are active & fully supported by Tomtom with regular updates. What a load of rubbish cos as I found out, this is not the case.
The Google Search function was 1 of the main reasons why I chose the GO Live 1000 only to find out that it is NOT supported in New Zealand (NZ).
Come on Tomtom, get with the program and activate this function in NZ.
More options for the GO LIVE 1000 Wishlist::
1. adding the ability to save routes (Other than as Favourite)
2. Forward Itinerary / journey planning with multiple waypoints on the device
3. Forward Itinerary / journey planning with multiple waypoints on PC/Laptop which can then be transferred to the device
4. Save/Export routes to PC/Laptop
5. Over Air "Map Correction Download" ability (as with iPhone 4 App)
6. "Limited Speed" Setting for route planning (as with iPhone 4 App)
7. A program like Tomtom Home to ineract with devices (like GO LIVE 1000) to add, create, edit etc. ("My Tomtom" does NOT allow any of this - it seems to be only for auto D/loading any updates - nothing else)
Hopefully Tomtom staff not only read these User Wishlist suggestions but actively do something about getting them
created for us, the users, who actually use the equipment daily.

I would like an update available to download voices for the speed camera alerts, so it not only beeps but says "Speed Camera Alert" etc to be selectable or not by the user, I find with all the beeps set for school zones, safety cameras, speed cameras, red light cameras, after a while you think is that a speed camera or school zone.
Also the easy ability to get the Tom Tom Home software working, fix the problem and put a new link on the web site that it is fixed, instead of having to download ver 2.7 to get something to work.
Have a look at the competition and see what they are presently have to offer in their latest models, if it's better than what Tom Tom have investigate to make tom tom even better than the opposition, eg 3D terrain, etc
But make it an update so all present users don't have to go out and buy a new model..

Here's my list:
* Download address book from Outlook when device is connected. Ability then to navigate to any address from your address book. (If anyone knows an EASY way to do this, please let me know.)
* Automatically turn on when power is applied to the device. (Not sure if this can be done with a software update though.) My old Navman had this, but didn't turn off automatically. The TomTom will turn off automatically, but not on. It'd be nice to have both. This would ensure correct logging (my next item).
* Auto logging of not only mileage, but also GPS coordinates. Ability then to view on the computer - including a map of your routes. Ability to make specific trips public (and even publish to Facebook) - and/or the ability to output specific trips in Google maps format that we could then publish. "Here is my trip." "Here is the best way to get to point B."

Why not have a capsule filled with bright red ink and a small explosive device that could be triggered.
