Just in case someone from TomTom occasionally reads this forum, thanks from the users for the more functional My TomTom software now. Thanks also for the feature allowing installation of custom POIs. Thanks also for a little more information on the support pages - still a lot more required, but at least it has been started.
May I suggest on behalf of all users of the new units who have upgraded from previous models, we have a wish-list (forum users may want to add to this list).
Can I request that this wish-list be responded to by someone who can provide reliable and knowledgeable response?
1. Top priority: being able to back our units up now that we have made map corrections, and added custom POIs;
2. Being able to download map corrections and install them as in previous models;
3. Being able to create, edit and install custom colour schemes as in previous models;
4. Being able to install custom screens for startup and shutdown as in previous models;
5. Being able to install custom car icons as in previous models;
6. Being able install custom sounds and voices;
7. Being able to export and import favourites, permitting easy transfer from one unit to another;
8. Restoring the compas feature on the navigation screen.
How many of these features are planned for our models?
In what sequence are they likely to be released?
What time frame are we looking at for the release of these features?
It would also be nice to know if/when/how we can obtain traffic information on this unit in Australia?
Anyone listening at TomTom?

This is the schedule for the moment:
14-03-2011 02:15 PM
What about being able to adjust the warning for going over the speed limit?
Around here (Southern Ontario, Canada) it still warns you too soon, eg 6km or so over the speed limit... and all the traffic flow around here is regularly 10km over the speed limit in 50km areas, 15km over on 80km speed limits and 18km over on 100km speed limits - we should be able to customize the warning speed by percentage or actual value eg either 15% or 10km per hour over, even better would be ability to set different values for different speed limits.

I forgot, we also need all speed limits for Canada, instead of the occasional ones we currently have.

I'd like to suggest the following when making a backup:
Easily make your own colour schemes:
A seperate feature where a 'wizard' ask step for step the wanted colour for the arrow, and all the other colours required. It can then be edited at a later time (ability to edit the colours) seperatly.
After all the colours are entered, the wizard could make a file(first enter the name of the colour scheme), where all information is stored and the file can be uploaded to the device. ![]()

I'd like to see:
1. Multiple waypoint route planning
2. Map Updates
3. Fully customisable colour schemes (I'm liking the "Wizard" idea!) I had a colour scheme editor for my 950, but this was too detailed. ie you could change the colour for quite literally any item.
4. Possiblity of altering the colours of the navigation bar accross the bottom. It would be nice, for example, to have blue during the day and black at night or colours to match your car dash lighting scheme.
5. Custom startup and shutdown screens
6. Custom arrows.
7. A real 'out there' one insofar as the pnd version of TomTom does not do this: phone calendar navigation integration.

Great ideas, also like the one for changing the colour of the navigation bar.![]()

Compass indicator - I like to know which way I'm going... especailly helpful when starting off and seeing which way the TT thinks you are pointing...

What about height?

I'll worry about coming features when they have basic features like map updates, purchasing maps, map share and the like working for all of us.
There are still a number of us that bought these over 3 months ago and still haven't had a map update
