I have a TomTom Go 1000. About a year old. In Australia.

For the past few months, I've been unable to use it without having it plugged into a charger. To start it, the normal method of holding the button for a second or personal loans online two doesn't work, I have to do a soft reset by holding the button for 15 seconds.

It looks like the battery is completely discharged and won't recharge. I've had it plugged into the car charger for 4 hours at a time but when I disconnect, it turns off immediately.

Is there anyway to recharge the battery or do I need to buy a new device?

Hi,

It may well be a problem with your battery, but if your device turns off when external power is removed. It could be that you have ticked the box for that to happen. Check under settings then power saving options.
