How to remove old device from account?

Hi all

I've upgraded from my old 730 to a new GO 600; unfortunately when I log into MyTomTom it still tells me I have a GO 730 and this seems to be causing some confusion between the app and the webpage.  The app says there is one update and to click for details, the webpage (with the GO 730 helpfully shown on the right) says there are no updates.

I have used the same account for both.  What's the easiest way of either removing the GO 730 or setting up a new account on the 600?

When you wish to keep using the same email adress, contact the TomTom Support Team and ask them to cleanup your TomTom account to a fresh state so when connecting the new GO 600 afterwards, the lifetime maps can activate properly onto the account (when linking to the account). It also ensures that updates for the new device will be offered to download then properly as they become available. :smileywink:

Hi Niall

I thought noseboy may have fallen foul of the one account change per 6 months rule :smileyfrustrated:

Thanks all

Unfortunately I already contacted Support after reading Stefan's reply, so I'll hold off from doing anything else in case I screw the pooch and confuse them utterly.  The old 730 is still working so otherwise I could have tried some of the methods above.

On a related note, my 600 says my Traffic subscription expires in 3 months.  Presumably this is because of the same confusion between the units?

Re: How to remove old device from account?

The Traffic subscription would be from the previous device because it should display 'Lifetime Traffic' instead. When TomTom refreshed the account and linking the new device, then Lifetime maps will activate automaticly onto your account (in the manage content section it displays a huge message at the top then that the lifetime maps have been activated).

In the manage content section when expanding the arrow by your maps, it should also mention 'For the lifetime of your product' (something similiar).

Also check afterwards that the subscription date from the TomTom Traffic onto the device displays 'Lifetime Traffic' when the phone is connected.
