Re: carminat built in tom tom - pair with i phone4

Hi scot12,

For the specific compatibility for the Renault in-car system please have a look at their website, as they have a section with a lot of information on what phones you can use, and linking up your phone to the equipment.

The website address is:

http://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/multimedia/multimedia.aspx

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have further questions.

Re: carminat built in tom tom - pair with i phone4

Hi,

I have the carminat built into my renault van and it pairs perfectly. I can also listen to music through the stereo when linked via bluetooth.

Just make sure you enter the code correctly when pairing.

I also have an iPhone4 and it paired okay with no problems. I would say though that the interface for playing music is quite poor especially if you want to select a specific track or locate a playlist if you have lots of playlists.

That's true if you pair using Bluetooth, but if you use the usb connection, you'll find you have total control over playlists, albums, artists etc using the buttons on the sound/source control stalk. Mind you, my Laguna has a wheel which you use to scroll on screen - and it's still a little stiff, making it a bit of a pain....

I do not have the usb lead, although I ordered one with it :smileysad:

Still it does almost everything I would like without.

Does the tracklist information etc show when using the usb lead with an iphone or ipod?

Depends what you mean by playlist information - you can scroll through the playlists/artists/albums and select one, and then you can scroll through the tracks: but it only shows track names on screen - I think!

Re: carminat built in tom tom - pair with i phone4

Hi - you should be able to pair both phones: I have 2 iphones (3gs, 4s) and a Galaxy SII paired. When you make both the phone and the car system discoverable, you should select 'My radiosat' on the phone to connect to. There's a useful FAQ section on http://www.renault.co.uk/bluetooth/default.aspx which may help.

If you haven't got the handbook for the system (it should be in the owner's pack) you can access it online, but you need to register and be logged in to 'My renault' (http://www.renault.co.uk/myrenault/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myrenault/default.aspx)

Hope that helps.
