Can I get traffic on my Mazda CX-5 NB1. the grey sidebar just stays there. I can't seem to find a radio channel to connect to either.

I was told by TomTom support (over the phone) that live services were not supported in Australia. If this is true, why have a side bar searching for a signal ??, or worst, ask you for the freqency to seek such
Please let me know how you go, l really do want this service if available

I have provided my NB1 debug to TomTom. They can confirm that there are two versions:
The Live version (which is in Europe). This uses a sourced internet connection to get Live services.
The non-Live version, which uses an in-built RDS-TMC.
We have the RDS-TMC in-built into the system, which is why it tries to search for a TMC channel automatically.
I believe SUNA provides the TMC service in Australia. I am uncertain of how they enable this and whether it's on a per device basis.
I suspect that we have to register our devices with SUNA so that our devices are accepted and can receive the data.
Until then, unfortunately the device will continue to search for a TMC channel and the traffic bar will remain in a "waiting" state.

i have checked on SUNA site and they do not support Tom Tom devices.
This is really getting very dissappointing.

I also contacted TomTom Australia Support who gave me the same line. They said that Live Traffic in Oz is only available for their devices that have built in Sim Cards.
That being said, the iPhone TomTom app allows users to bring their own device (iPhone) and subscribe to TomTom Live Traffic.... Frustrating to say the least.......

Frustrating? Not really.
Just keep away away from TomTom products and services.
In my opinion TomTom is a one smooth operator.
I have TomTom Go 730, TomTom Go Live 2050 Australia and TomTom NB1 in my CX5.
TomTom is very quick to remind you that your subscription is about to expire and they want more money to keep you going but they will not tell you that they charge you VAT (not applicable to Australians).
Then you have to apply for refund.
With my last renewal of subscription they did not send me invoice so I could not apply for refund.
My subscription expires in 20 days.
I will not renew- is not that difficult to find underground update service for a fraction of TomTom charge in Melbourne.
BTW- my TomTom 2050 Australia is over one year old and is still being reported by computer as TomTom 1050 (American version).
despite a few application updates.
Mazda CX5 is not exactly an outdated model and TomTom had the audacity to to release NB1 in Australia without Live services.
As I wrote above- keep away from TomTom and warn your friends too...
